PURPOSE:To use a storage device with small capacity and to provide the 'KARAOKE' singing equipment which is small in size and inexpensive and the medium used for the 'KARAOKE' singing equipment. CONSTITUTION:On the medium 2, digital audio data on respective pieces of music and display condition data are recorded and character font data which are common to all the pieces of music are recorded. Once music is selected with a music selection switch 4, the corresponding display condition data are read out by a reproduction device 3 and stored in a display condition data RAM 6. According to character codes in the display condition data, necessary font data are read out of the medium 2 by the reproduction device 3 and stored in a font RAM 5. The character codes coordinates, and wait time in the display condition data are obtained and when a counter 9 reaches the value of the wait time, the font data corresponding to the character codes are taken out of the font RAM 5 and passed to a display processor 7 together with their coordinates; and the font data are drawn at the coordinate positions to obtain a character video output.
