METHOD FOR MEASURING DEPTH OF IRON TAPPING HOLE OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE: To measure the boring depth by executing arithmetic processing to number of revolutions of a sprocket connected with a chain for feed. ;CONSTITUTION: An iron tapping hole 4 of a blast furnace plugged with a mudding material is opened by fitting a drill or a metal rod 2 to a boring machine 3 hung with a guide cell 5 advanced/retreated with an air motor 6 through the feed chain 8 and rotating or impacting. At this time, the number of revolutions per sec of the sprocket 9 connected with the feed chain 8 is measure, and the measured value and the preset value are compared and it is detected that the tip part of the drill or the metal rod 2 penetrates the mudding material, and the arithmetic processing is executed to this detected time and the measured value. In the case of not deciding preset value, the advancing speed per sec of the drill or the metal rod 2 is calculated from the measured value of the number of revolutions of the sprocket 9, and the time required for penetrating the mudding material is detected from the variation of the advancing speed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
