METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING FAULT OF NETWORK BASED ON NETWORK FAULT PROPAGATION MODEL

PURPOSE: To improve the maintenance and management performance of the intelligence of the fault propagation model by expressing a fault propagation based on data specific to a relation model among a few kinds of fault propagation elements and to a very few fault propagation models. ;CONSTITUTION: A database management section 29 manages various data bases, and relations among all fault propagation element,3 defined by a total management object in an object network are mode to a data base in an inter-fault propagation element relational database 25. Since each data base of management object class definition information database 26, network configuration database 27 and equipment configuration database 28 store data required also for network management, the network management system also uses the prepared data. Since simple fault propagation models and data specific to a few fault propagation models are used and the intelligence to be used is not an experimental intelligence but a design intelligence, a fault is diagnosed with high reliability even without storage of fault events obtained through actual operation of the network.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
