PURPOSE: To generate and direct an antenna scanner beam displaying a fixed polarization vector. ;CONSTITUTION: An antenna mirror scanner 50 incorporates an unrotatable fixed aperture antenna 52 and a planar reflector 58 having flat reflecting surfaces 60 and 62. The rotating shaft of the reflector 58 is positioned toward the reflecting surface 60 or perpendicularly to the propagating direction 66 of an antenna scanner beam propagated from the reflecting surface 60. A motor 70 rotates the reflector 58 so that the reflector 58 may reflect the antenna scanner beam made incident on the reflecting surface 60 toward the fixed aperture antenna 52 when the scanner 50 operates in a receiving mode or orient the beam from the antenna 52 when the scanner 50 operates, in a transmitting mode.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
