PURPOSE: To provide an index to accurately represent a psychological yardstick heard by a person in vocal exercise by providing a nose sniff detector, and a maximum value detector to detect the maximum value of nose sniffing, and providing the index in accordance with the psychological yardstick on a display device. ;CONSTITUTION: The nose sniffing generated at the wings of the nose when a voice is emitted is detected by the nose sniff detector 11, and it is converted into an electrical signal. The maximum value in the successive generating time of the input amplitude of the nose sniffing can be detected by inputting output obtained from the nose sniff detector 11 to the maximum value detector 12, and the maximum value of nose sniff input obtained by the maximum value detector 12 is displayed visually on the display device 13. In such a way, it is possible to provide the index in accordance with the psychological yardstick of a nasalized vowel to a vocal trainee and to perform effective training to prevent the nasalized vowel from being emitted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
