METHOD FOR IMPROVING GERMINATION OF BURDOCK SEED

PURPOSE: To effectively improve the germination of a burdock seed and readily mass-produce a high-performance burdock seed having improved and stabilized germination performance, by treating a burdock seed at a specific temperature. ;CONSTITUTION: A burdock seed is treated with dried hot air at ≥50°C, preferably 70-80°C and water content of the burdock seed is ≤15% dry weight, preferably ≤5% dry weight to improve germination of a burdock seed. The heat treatment is preferably carried out by using a heating dryer such as a hot air heat receiving type, a conduction heat receiving type, an infrared type or a high-frequency type capable of controlling temperature.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
