PURPOSE: To improve the response and to reduce vibration and shock exerted to a converter by setting a feeding section located at a turning center of the antenna and the converter coupled thereto to be at a standstill at all times and turning only the antenna within a horizontal plane thereby relieving the load of a tracking mechanism in the azimuth angle direction. ;CONSTITUTION: The antenna is made up of e,g. 12-sets of radiation waveguides 1A, 1B-1L arranged closely side by side and a feeding waveguide 2 combining radio waves received by the waveguides and giving the combined wave to a converter. The waveguide 2 is provided on a same plane as the radiation waveguides 1A, 1B-1L to form a 2-dimension structure uniform in the broadwise direction thereby facilitating the analysis of the antenna and the ease of mass production. A structure of cascade connection of post loading waveguide πbranches is adopted for the waveguide 2, both ends are short-circuited and a phase of each signal from a coupling window 7 of each π branch is made in phase with respect to an adjacent radiation waveguide by selecting the broad wall width to be twice the broad wall width of the radiation waveguides 1A, 1B-1L. An inductive post 6 is loaded to each π branch and a reflected radio wave from the window 7 is suppressed to excite a traveling wave.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
