COMPOSITION FOR CONTROLLING INSECTS AND TICKS CONTAINING ANIONIC SURFACTANT AND SIGNAL TRANSMITTING CHEMICAL SUBSTANCE AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THEM BY USING SAID COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: To obtain a composition for controlling or preventing the breeding of insects and miles eating filed crops by halves and further exterminating the insects and mites and to provide a method for controlling. CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises an anionic surfactant and a chemical mediator as essential active ingredients. A surfactant having inhibiting actions on the formation of cuticulae of insects and mites is used as the surfactant and a substance selected from a pheromonal substance and an allelochemical substance is used as the mediator. Although exterminating activities are not present in the individual essential ingredients, the exterminating activities against the insects and miles are manifested as synergisitic effects by using both in combination. The composition is nontoxic without adversely affecting environment including users and the ecosystem.
