PURPOSE:To increase general-purpose properties by making it possible to obtain arbitrary exciting characteristics, reduce installation space by reducing the size of an apparatus, and obtain an apparatus whose manufacturing cost can be reduced, by respectively specified artificial ideal transformer, primary winding load current outputting means, and exciting current outputting means. CONSTITUTION:The title transformer simulation apparatus to simulate characteristics of a transformer is provided with the following; an artificial ideal transformer Tr wherein at least the leakage inductance, the exciting inductance, and the resistance value are approximate to an ideal transformer as compared with the above transformer, a primary winding load current outputting means CS1 capable of making a current equivalent to a primary winding load current which will flow in a transformer to be simulated flow in the primary winding side of the above artificial ideal transformer Tr, and an exciting current outputting means CS2 capable of making a current equivalent to an exciting current which will flow in the transformer to be simulated flow in the primary winding side of the above artificial transformer Tr. Thereby the values of the leakage inductance and the exciting inductance to be simulated can be freely varied, so that arbitrary exciting characteristics can be obtained.
