SECONDARY EXCITING EQUIPMENT FOR AC EXCITATION SYNCHRONIZER

PURPOSE:To prevent damages at the secondary side of an AC excitation synchronizer during a system failure and to permit a continuous operation after the recovery from the failure. CONSTITUTION:At a secondary excitation equipment for an AC excitation synchronizer 50 operated with variable speed by controlling the secondary side of the AC excitation synchronizer 50 by an inverter 12 of an excitation converter 6, a gate of the inverter 12 is temporarily turned off during system failure; protection from an overvoltage is provided by an arrester 28; an induction machine is operated by non-linear resistance of the arrester 28; and the gate of the inverter 12 is turned on after eliminating the failure thereby resetting to ordinary operation.
