PURPOSE: To achieve reduction in consumption of chemicals, easy operation control, improved quality of water, stabilization of water quality, and concentra tion of sludge by a method wherein waste water of low turbidity, which is discharged from a power plant and in which concentration of suspended solids has a predetermined value, is subjected to a flocculating process to separate sludge and part of the separated sludge is mixed into the waste water. ;CONSTITUTION: Waste water of low turbidity (regenerated waste water), which is discharged from a power plant and in which concentration of suspended solids is 30mg/l or lower, is sent to a reactor tank 2 through a pipe 11, raw water tank l, and pipe 12. In the reactor tank 2, PAC and pH adjusting agent is added through a pipe 13, while, at the same time, concentrated slurry of a slurry feed tank 8 is added to the waste water through a pipe 14, while the waste water is being agitated. Next, the waste water is sent to a flocculation tank 3 to flocculate it by adding polymer thereto and is sent to a precipitation tank 4 to effect precipitation and separation.
