PURPOSE: To provide an electric filed sensor head which has high electric field detecting sensitivity and a small size and, at the same time, which can be handled easily due to a less number of optical fibers to be connected to the sensor head. ;CONSTITUTION: The reflection-type electric field sensor is provided with an incident light waveguide 1 which is formed on a substrate 12 having an electrooptic effect and receives incident light, optical fiber 8 which supplies the incident light to the waveguide 1, two phase shifting waveguides 3 and 4 which are formed on the substrate 12, are connected to the waveguide 1 on one side, and shift the phase of incident light by prescribed amounts, and optical reflector 7 which is installed on the other side of the waveguides 3 and 4, reflects light from the waveguides 3 and 4 toward the waveguides 3 and 4 as reflected light, and supplies the reflected light to the fiber 8 through the waveguide 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
