METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSFORMATION OF IMAGE RESOLUTION USING PLURALITY OF STATISTICALLY GENERATED MORPHOLOGICAL FILTERS

PURPOSE: To covert and intensify resolution of an image bit map by automatically generating a set of filters to filter the image bit map and adapting the filters. CONSTITUTION: A set of training documents are decomposed into a pair of bit maps 56, 58 by a block 52, input bit resolution M is supplied to a sub-sample block 54 by the input bit map 56 and output bit resolution N is supplied to the sub-sample block 54 by the output bit map 58. When sample images are acquired, these are stored in unique sub-sample image memory so as to be utilized by a processing in a statistics acquisition block 70 by the block 54. Motions of the statistics acquisition at the block 70 and design of the filter of a block 74 are performed by a computer 76. A filter 78 is generated by using a position of an output pixel discriminated at the block 74. A resolution bit map image is provided, printed and outputted by adapting the filter 78 to a digital printer.
