PRESS CASTING MAGNESIUM ALLOY SMALL IN CRACK SENSITIVITY

摘要

PURPOSE: To develop a press casting Mg alloy small in hot cracks, excellent in mechanical properties and small in crack sensitivity by adding specified ratios of Al, Si and Sr to Mg and executing alloying. ;CONSTITUTION: As an Mg alloy used for press casting such as diecasting, an Mg alloy obtd. by adding Mg with, by weight, 6 to 12% Al for reducing hot cracks in an alloy casting and preventing deterioration in its mechanical properties, 0.1 to 1.5% Si for improving its hot cracks and creep strength and 0.005 to 0.1% Sr for suppressing cracks in the Mg alloy in the coexistence with Si and executing alloying is used. This Mg alloy is a casting material small in hot crack sensitivity, having a uniform fine structure regardless of the producing thickness and excellent in mechanical properties when being used as a light alloy for press casting.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
