PURPOSE: To safely administer medicines to a patient by forming a recess on one end of the housing of a needle guide assembly and providing a contact part in the recess for engagement with the hub of the needle assembly so as to prevent an injection with a needle beyond a selected depth. ;CONSTITUTION: A housing passage is made of a first cylindrical part 28A of relatively small diameter, a second cylindrical part 28B of diameter larger than the diameter of the first cylindrical part 28A adjacent thereto, and a third part or a recess 28C formed on the base end of a housing 16. Furthermore, an end wall 56 at the forward end of a frame 52 defines contact surfaces for engagement with the first and the second contact parts defined with step parts 34 and 36 extending in the housing recess 28C. Also, an assembly 10 is designed to allow two different injection depth and the rotational position of a needle assembly is established so that the larger part of the frame 52 is rotatable by 90 degrees relative to the step part 34 in the housing 16 for allowing relatively deeper injection.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
