PURPOSE: To more economically provide a system using a digital signal processor(DSP) with a large scale application program. CONSTITUTION: A program memory 4 in DSP 1 is used for the storage of a software hierarchy 6 operating as a control unit reading an instruction 10 in an external memory 5. The external memory 5 controls the transfer of the digital signal processor to the program memory 4 and this transfer is executed by an instruction caused by the instruction 10.
