METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PATTERN PROCESSING, AND APPARATUS FOR RAINFALL PREDICTION

PURPOSE: To obtain a proper moving vector and predict a pattern of a future time by extracting the characteristics concerning irregularities in the pattern from pattern information with using a polynomial expansion filter. ;CONSTITUTION: A CPU 201, an input component 202, a pattern information input device 203 and output device 204, a external memory 205 and a memory 206 are connected through a bus 213. In the memory 206, a polynomial expansion filter memory 207, a pattern information memory 208, a characteristic memory 209, a program area 212, etc., are included. In the program area 212, the process procedure is contained and the process is executed by CPU 201. Then setting of filter for expanding the pattern information to a polynomial around each point is done. By using the filter for extracting the characteristics concerning irregularities of the pattern from the pattern information and correlating them between two varying times, proper moving vector is obtained.
