PURPOSE:To easily and accurately produce a fault tree with facilitated correction and maintenance and with reduction of the labor for production of data in consideration of plural equipments of the same type and a common back-up system. CONSTITUTION:In reference to analysis of the fault tree of a multiplex system, the fault tree is described in the same data by supposing that just a single subsystem exists among plural subsystems of the same type. Then the identification codes A, B... are added for distinction of each subsystem when an event number (E2) of the highest rank of a subtree is first inputted to the input event of the event relation data. Meanwhile the special codes * are added in a common back-up system when an event number is first inputted to the input event of the event relation data. Then the identification codes corresponding to each subsystem are added to all event numbers that are used to the subtree by the code conversion processing of a computer. In regard of a common event, the data are converted according to the special code and the fault tree is evolved in the multiplex system.
