THREE PRIMARY COLORS TIME DIVISION FLASH LIGHTING TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL PROJECTION TYPE COLOR PICTURE DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal projection type picture display device provided with color resolution three to six times as much as a conventional case by one black/ white LCD. ;CONSTITUTION: Standard color television video signals are converted to 1/4 time- compressed time division three primary color video signals and the three primary color video signals of R, G and B are written to one black/white LCD (1) with equivalent time intervals in a standard field time. Blank time generated for each writing of the primary video signal is intentionally provided, the response time of liquid crystal is supplied, also LCD lighting is synchronously performed by a white flash lamp (3) corresponding to the primary color video pictures for which the writing is completed after the second half of the blank time and color picture display is surface sequentially performed by an electrically controlled three primary color modulator (2).
