PURPOSE: To reduce residual stress at welded joint parts and to surely hold frictional force generated by high strength bolts, by a method wherein tightening force is specified for two groups of the high strength bolts nearest to parts to be welded, and after welding heat is allowed to cool, these high strength bolts specified are additionally tightened. ;CONSTITUTION: Webs 12 of H section steels are held between steel splice plates 13, and a group of high strength bolts 15a except two groups of high strength bolts 15b on lines nearest to parts to be welded, are tightened by design tightening force. After that, the groups of the high strength bolts 15b on the lines nearest to the parts to be welded are tightened by force of 2/3 to 1/4 based on the design tightening force, following which flanges 11, 11 ' of the H section steels are weld-connected to each other at places 14, 14'. After welding heat is allowed to cool, the groups of the high strength bolts 15b on the lines nearest to the welded parts are tightened by the design tightening force.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
