PURPOSE: To use a relatively small register mark and enhance a registering error detecting accuracy by obtaining a deviation of coordinates of an intersection obtained from suitable printed register marks from coordinates of an intersection obtained from the other register marks. ;CONSTITUTION: When an image sensor A is trigger-scanned in one dimensional manner, pixels of addresses '0'-'8' of the sensor A receive a reflected light of a white base color to be charged to a HIGH level, and pixels of addresses '9'-'11' are charged to a LOW level since they receive the reflected light of the white base color register mark. Pixels of addresses '12'-'18' receive the reflected light of the white base color to be charged to a HIGH level, and pixels of addresses '19'-'21' absorb the reflected light of the white base color register mark to the base color to be charged to a LOW level.
