DEVICE FOR PREVENTING DROWNING AT BATH TUB

PURPOSE: To provide a device for preventing drowning at a bath tub safely and economically in which even if an infant drops into the bath tub, its drowning can be prevented. ;CONSTITUTION: In a bath device provided with an additional boiling mechanism for additionally boiling hot water in a bath tub 1 to its proper temperature while the water is being forcedly circulated with a circulation pump 20, there are provided a taking-a-bath sensing means for sensing a taking-a-bath into the bath tub 1 and a drain water changing-over means for changing-over an additional boiling circulation passage to a water drain side, wherein when the taking-a-bath sensing means detects the taking-a-bath state during waiting of an operation of the drowning preventing device, the water draining changing- over means is changed over to the water draining side and at the same time the circulation pump 20 is driven, and the hot water in the bath tub 1 is forcedly discharged out of the bath tub 1. As the taking-a-bath sensing means, either a pressure sensor 18 or a near infrared ray sensor is applied and an alarm means is provided to generate a drowning alarm in concurrent with the occurrence of the forced water discharging state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
