INHIBITOR OF TESTOSTERONE 5ALPHA-REDUCTASE CONTAINING EXTRACT FROM BELAMCANDA CHINENSIS DC. AND ITS APPLICATION

PURPOSE:To obtain a new inhibitor of testosterone 5alpha-reductases capable of manifesting excellent effects, a skin external preparation and a hair cosmetic, containing the inhibitor blended therein and useful for beauty. CONSTITUTION:This inhibitor of testosterone 5alpha-reductases contains an extract obtained from a plant Belamcanda chinensis DC. of the family Iridaceae by using one or two or more selected from water, lower alcohols and polyol-based organic solvents. A skin external preparation for preventing or treating common acne and a hair cosmetic contains the extract blended therein. The inhibitor, skin external preparation and hair cosmetic are useful for treating and preventing seborrhea, acne vulgaris, male type baldness, etc.
