ARM TYPE MOORING AND ALONGSIDE/OFF-PIER SUPPORTING DEVICE WITH DAMPER MECHANISM FOR SHIP

PURPOSE: To provide an arm type mooring and alongside/off-pier supporting device for a ship with action equal to the absorbing action of excessive load caused by the elongation and sagging of a mooring rope in a ship mooring system by the mooring rope. ;CONSTITUTION: Damper mechanism with a universal joint 8 and an expansion joint 6 disposed in series is interposed between the tip part of an arm 2 and a vacuum suction cup 6 serving as the grip mechanism of a hull 1. The oscillation of the hull 1 is thereby absorbed by the rotation of the universal joint 8 and the expansion of the expansion joint 16 so as to prevent excessive load from acting upon the arm 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
