PURPOSE: To form a stranded wire of stable quality without loosening wires having especially high resilience by applying flexing through a rotating type preformer to each of wires running while keeping a prescribed interval and then introducing the resultant wires into a stranding mouth die. ;CONSTITUTION: In the wire twister of the type nonrotating on the wire side and rotating on the stranded wire side, plural wires 11 having high resilience such as hard copper wires or copper wires withdrawn from a supply system are run through wire separating rollers 19 toward a stranding mouth die 21 while keeping a prescribed interval. A bending helical curl close to the twisting pitch of stranded wires is applied through three-point roll units 31 of a rotating type preformer 29, arranged around the respective wires 11 in a passage for guiding the wires to the stranding mouth die 21 and rotating while keeping a constant relation to the rotational speed on the side of the stranded wires to the respective wires, which are then introduced into the stranding mouth die 21 to carry out the prescribed laying.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
