PROCESSING METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC PAPER SPLICING OF ROLL PAPER AND PROCESSOR FOR AUTOMATIC PAPER SPLICING

PURPOSE: To provide good and complete paper splicing at a paper feeding part by cutting out a tab from roll paper to be pre-processed for paper splicing, forming an adhesive layer for pasting and a slit for cutting in the tab, and fitting the top end of the roll paper onto its outer surface. ;CONSTITUTION: A roll paper P whose outer periphery is covered with a mill wrapper P' is rotatably supported by a roll paper supporting device 1. A clearance is formed between the roll paper P and the end of the mill wrapper P' by a clearance forming mechanism 8. After a clearance is formed in the clearance by a cutter 8, a cutter 9 is inserted into the clearance to make the roll paper P run in its width direction, and the mill wrapper P' and the surface layer of the roll paper P are cut respectively. Then, the mill wrapper P' and the surface layer which have been cut by a main processor 27 are removed, and the cut end of the roll paper P is delivered onto a table 26. An adhesive layer for paper splicing is formed at an area which has been delivered, and an adhesive layer for pasting and a slit for cutting are formed at part of the adhesive layer for paper splicing to separate and form a tab T. After one end of the tab T is affixed onto the top end of the roll paper, the roll paper is rewound to affix the other end of the tab onto the outer surface of the roll paper.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
