SOFT AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STEEL EXCELLENT IN HOT WORKABILITY

PURPOSE: To obtain a soft austenitic stainless steel usable for roof material, etc., to be bent, hardly causing work hardening, and excellent particularly in hot workability. ;CONSTITUTION: This steel is a soft austenitic stainless steel which has a composition consisting of ≤0.02% C, ≤0.15% Si, ≤1.5% Mn, 5-15% Ni, 15-25% Cr, 0.3-2.0% Cu, 0.001-0.010% Al, 0.001-0.010% B, ≤0.02% N, ≤0.01% O (oxygen), and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and satisfying (Al+B)/O=0.5 to 2.0%. Further, one or ≥2 kinds among ≤0.3% Mo, ≤0.5% Ti, and ≤0.5% Nb are incorporated into the above composition.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
