摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer which is prepared by polymerization of monomers bearing a plurality of double bonds in the presence of a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer, thus has high strength, heat resistance, shock resistance and good moldability, furthermore shows high strength in the direction vertical to the molecular chains. ;CONSTITUTION: In the presence of a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer, monomers bearing 2 or more double bonds are polymerized to give the object polymer having only a part of the double bonds crosslinked. For example, 4,4'-bis(6-hydroxyhexyloxy)biphenyl monomer and 1,6-bis(phenoxycarbonyloxy) hexane monomer are subjected to melt polycondensation reaction in the presence of zinc acetate catalyst to give a thermotropic liquid crystal polycarbonate. Then, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate monomer of formula II is polymerized in the presence of said polymer and a cross-linking agent to give the object polymer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
