PURPOSE: To provide a spotting method for accident such as lightning strike on railway, etc., capable of detecting an arrival time difference between a line waveform and a ground waveform by only a waveform outputted from an adder. ;CONSTITUTION: Surges of respective railways 1 to 3 are detected by surge sensors 5, a gain of induced phase to lightning stoke phase among output signals from these surge sensors 5 is varied by a gain converter 10, and an output signal from the surge sensors 5 of which gain is varied is added to an output signal from the other surge sensor 5 by an adder 6 to obtain a time different between the rise of line waveform and rise of ground waveform in the waveform outputted from the adder 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
