NEW KIND OF LYOPHYLLUM DECASTES AND METHOD FOR ARTIFICIAL CULTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To easily harvest in a high yield a new kind of Lyophyllum decastes in a properly shaped basidiocarp by culturing a new kind of Lyophyllum decastes spawns in a medium comprising woodmeal, corn bran, other nutrients and water to make the spawns germinate in a soil-covered state. CONSTITUTION:A new kind of Lyophyllum decastes can be obtained by making its spawns germinate in an optimal culture medium 65% in water content. This medium has the following characteristics: (1) optimum temperature for growing mycelia in an agar medium, 24-26 deg.C (2) containing cedar sawdust and/or beech sawdust and rice bran or corn bran, (3) days for spawn prevalence are 39+ or -2 days, (4) days for spawn maturing are: 30+ or -3 days (5) requiring coverage with soil for basidiocarp development, (6) low stimulating temperature for basidiocarp development is 7-15 deg.C, (7) basidiocarp growing temperature is 18-21 deg.C, and (8) days for basidiocarp growth: 40+ or -3 days. The Lyophyllum decastes thus obtained has the following characteristics: (a) pileus color: brownish grey, (b) pileus is approximately circular with flat upper surface; (c) pileus diameter: 4-6cm; (d) the pileus is thin in flesh, somewhat hard and free from scale coating, (e) gills are white, narrow, and dense, (f) stem is vertical and hollow, 8-12cm in length, 1.3-2cm in diameter, being cylindrical or with the lower part thick, splittable longitudinally, the flesh is tight and long enjoyable in chewiness.
