PURPOSE: To stabilize a power supply or power circuit network with respect to changes in reactive load of electric equipment or variable reactive load facilities by compensating for a change in reactor power according to the total current intensity, including the current in a reactive power compensator, in addition to the current in at least one of the electric equipment or variable reactive load facilities. CONSTITUTION: In order to stabilize a power supply device or power circuit network 1 with respect to changes in reactive load of at least one of electric equipment or variable reactive load facilities 8, the current intensity is adjusted to a specified current target value isoll or a reactive power target value Qsoll8 by a control signal or adjustment signal ist . In this case, a change in reactive power generated in at least one electric facility is compensated for according to the adjustment signal ist and according to a measured current signal iist or the current target value isoll of the facility 8. Furthermore, the change in reactive power is compensated for according to the total current intensity i33 , including the current in at least one reactive power compensating equipment 4, 4' other than the current in at least one facility 8.
