PURPOSE: To maintain the temperature of the operation oil for an automatic transmission in a reasonable range stably even in the case of the operation of a retarder device. ;CONSTITUTION: The cooling water of a retarder oil cooler 22 is radiated in a radiator 20 serving as an engine cooling and the operation oil cooler 21 of an automatic transmission 3 is installed in the radiator. In a speed change control unit for controlling the automatic transmission, a retarder control order is outputted to a retarder drive device 16 so that the brake force of a retarder device 7 can be lowered when its temperature is high corresponding to the operation oil temperature detected by an oil temperature sensor 15 and the brake force can be raised up as its loading amount is light according to the loading amount detected by a load sensor 40. Thereby, the operation oil temperature of the automatic transmission is maintained stably in a reasonable range during the retarder device operation and the temperature change of operation oil caused by the change in the loading amount is also prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
