METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING AND UPDATING PHOTORECEPTOR BELT STEEING COEFFICIENT IN BELT TRACKING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To improve controllability in the transverse movement of a belt by providing a motor to set a support means to rotatably support a support roll of the belt through the automatic control in the desired direction to position the belt in a center of the roller. ;CONSTITUTION: In a belt 10 traveling on a steering/tension roll 20 and a separation roll 34, the transverse direction of the belt 10 is detected by a belt edge sensor 64. The detected signal is outputted to a motor controller 52 by operating the control signal to compensate the undesired movement of the belt by a position calculation block 70, a proportional integration induction control device 72 and a backlash compensation circuit 74. A steering motor 50 is controlled by this control signal, the direction of the steering/tension roller 20 is changed, and the belt 10 is positioned in the center of the roller 20.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
