COMPOSITION FOR INJECTION MOLDING OF TITANIUM POWDER OR TITANIUM ALLOY POWDER AND BINDER USED FOR THE SAME

PURPOSE: To provide a compsn. for injection molding which yields a sintered compact contg. oxygen at a low ratio and having excellent mechanical characteristics by using a binder having a specific compsn. which does not increase the oxygen content of the sintered compact at a specific ratio. ;CONSTITUTION: This compsn. is formed by compounding 5 to 30 pts.wt. binder consisting of a hydrocarbon resin and additives with 100 pts.wt. titanium or titanium alloy powder. The binder to be used at this time consists of 20 to 90wt.% hydrocarbon resin and the balance additives and further, the hydrocarbon resin is a resin consisting of a polymer or copolymer of ≥1 kinds of ethylene, propylene, butene, butadiene, etc. This resin consists of a polymer, of which the molecules are composed of only the carbon atoms and hydrogen atoms and which does not contain oxygen atoms. Additives, such as paraffin wax, higher fatty acid and higher alcohol, which are used heretofore, are used as the additives.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
