PURPOSE: To elongate the life of a sleeve brick and provide a hearth electrode of long life by eliminating the selective erosion of the part of horizontal joint of the sleeve brick. ;CONSTITUTION: A rod type metallic, electrode 5 is arranged at the central part of a hearth electrode sleeve brick 11 for an DC arc furnace and castable refractory 2 is structured so as to surround the outer periphery of the electrode 5 while the sleeve brick 11, formed so as to have a tubular shape and provided with no horizontal joint, is arranged between the rod type electrode 5 and the castable refractory 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
