METHOD FOR ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION PREVENTING TREATMENT OF CATALYST FOR PURIFICATION UNDER USED CONDITION AND METHOD FOR RECOVERY OF METAL

PURPOSE: To recover metals efficiently and to obtain a final aq. phase disposable into sea water without any pressuring device by calcining a catalyst at the specified temp. in the presence of gas contg. molecular oxygen and thereafter carrying out metal leaching of the catalyst in the presence of an aq. soln. contg. the specified substance. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst has a support based on alumina, is deactivated, and contains carbon, a VIII group metal, vanadium and a metal selected from the group consisting of VI group metals. For preparation, at first the catalyst is calcined at the temp. of 600 deg.C in the presence of gas contg. molecular oxygen. Then, metal leaching of the catalyst is carried out in the presence of an aq. soln. contg. a substance selected from the group consisting of alkaline bases and alkaline carbon salts. And, by leaching, the solid contg. the VIII group metals including particularly nickel, cobalt and iron as well as the filtrate contg. the metals selected from aluminum, vanadium, molybdenum and tungsten selected from the VI group metals are obtained.
