SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING HYBRID FORWARD DIFFERENCE PROCESS FOR PLOTTING BEZIER SPLINE

PURPOSE: To provide system and method for approximating a Bezier spline at a computer graphic system with high calculation efficiency. ;CONSTITUTION: Concerning the system and method for plotting a Bezier curve at high speed with high memory efficiency, the curve can be plotted by a little linear segments while using a hybrid forward difference function expressing the Bezier curve determined by a Bezier control point, and the curve is plotted so as to generate the same Bezier control point as the calculated point by using well-known repeated segmentation technique. The line segment approximation not to be derived by this repeated segmentation is refused, plotting can be started at any end of the Bezier curve, and the same approximation can be plotted. Further, these system and method can be easily executed by a computer and can be applied to the Bezier curve having any dimensional number.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
