RECTANGULAR/CIRCULAR CONVERTING TAPERED WAVEGUIDE

PURPOSE: To simplify configuration and to facilitate impedance evaluation at any arbitrary cross section on a tube axis. ;CONSTITUTION: The rectangular/circular converting tapered waveguide is composed of a rectangular tapered waveguide 1 and a circular tapered waveguide 2 connected on the same tube axis. At the connecting part of the rectangular tapered waveguide and the circular tapered waveguide, the longitudinal and lateral lengths of the rectangular cross section and the diameter of the circular cross section are decided so as to equalize the opening part impedance of the circular waveguide and the opening part impedance of the rectangular waveguide and to keep the continuity of the change of the impedance in the tube axis direction corresponding to a TE₀₁ mode.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
