The method is for the examination of a synthetic lubricating oil from a compressor cooling system for the residual content of mineral oil after the exchange of coolant medium Freon 12 with coolant fluid 134 A. A measured amt. of lubrication oil is placed in an equal amt. of clean methanol, where it is shaken and observed after a certain time. After this period, a sepg. surface is formed between the oil and the methanol-dissolved oil, showing that the residual content of mineral oil in the synthetic oil is over approximately 1 per cent.
