A gravedigger for digging graves for burying human remains, wherein the frame of the gravedigger comprises a mechanism for adjusting the wheel base and thus the length of the frame, and at least one base support which can be extended in the direction transverse to the longitudinal direction of the frame and at least one extendible base support on the other side of the frame. The gravedigger is eminently suitable for use on burial places which are difficult to reach or difficult to walk on.
