The hoist having an operation lever turnable reciprocally about a transverse axis of the hoise, includes a first axial tubular part disposed on a cover attached to a side plate of the hoist and a second axial tubular part disposed on the axially inner end of a portion of the operation lever. The second tubular part is borne by the first tubular part. A tubular member is axially inserted into the tubular parts. The inner circumference of one of the tubular part forms a support surface slidably and rotatably supporting the outer circumference of the other tubular part. The end portions of the tubular member have substantially radially outwardly directed stops. The stop at one end portion cooperates with an axially outer part of one of the tubular parts. The stop at the other end portion cooperates with an axially inner part of the other tubular part, thereby limiting axial movement of the operation lever.
