The object of the present invention is a substance in a particular solvent vehicle, which, when added to all the skin disinfectants currently on the market is capable, when applied by rubbing, of causing anaesthesia of the designated site and of rendering the surface veins more visible. The substance in question is capsaicin, which is dissolved in absolute ethanol and then added to the commercial skin disinfectants so as to reach a final concentration of 11.88 mg of capsaicin/100 ml of disinfectant. Through these characteristics, it thus has a specific indication in the preparation of the venipuncture area for blood sampling or infusion of liquids.
