A process for the mfr. of antistatic, low water absorption ceramic tiles comprises, prior to batching the raw materials of: mixing together two or more compounds which possess electrical conductivity properties relative to the raw materials, grinding these compounds, admixing the compounds to the raw materials prior to proceeding with the remaining manufacture operations. The compounds with suitable electrical conductivity are metal oxides, including an oxide of antimony.
