A connector (1) for a pacemaker electrode lead (2) has a plug pin (3), which is hollow in the longitudinal direction, for connection to a pacemaker and an insulating sheath (6) having, in the extension of the plug pin (3), a socket aperture (4) for receiving the free end (5) of the electrode lead (2), the electrically conducting connection being produced by clamping. In this arrangement, the longitudinal interior cavity (7) of the plug pin (3) fits over the insulated end (5) of the electrode lead and can be radially deformed for clamping thereto. At its end (3b) remote from the socket end (3a), the plug pin (3) carries the insulating sheath (6) with an insertion element (8) for the insulated region (5a) of the end (5) of the electrode lead, which lines the interior cavity (4) of the insulating sheath (6) to the extent that the remaining insulation (9) of the region (5a) can be easily pushed into the insulating sheath (6). The inlet element (8) projects beyond the end of the insulating sheath (6) and can be easily withdrawn after assembly. Clamping screws having a space requirement in the radial direction are advantageously avoided, so that the radial expansion of the connector (1) is correspondingly slight. …IMAGE…
