This control system is developed in order to minimize laboratory control effort, guaranteeing the desired fineness and optimum production of the mill. A preliminary calibration is made automatic in three devices for estimating overall particle size. The basis of the instantaneous estimations of particle size of the finished product lies in the information provided by the effort (torque) of the dynamic separator on the percentage of material returned to the mill compared with that supplied to the separator and in line with the fineness of the finished product. The information for calibration is obtained by laser granulometry, four tests being sufficient and a very long life (validity) being achieved.
