METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OPTIMIZATION OF FEEDWATER HEATER LIQUID LEVEL

A processor controlled supervisory apparatus for aliquid level controller of a feedwater heater obtainsDCA characteristics and breakpoints thereof in aprogrammed manner. A plurality of DCA characteristicsare obtained for a plurality of load conditions and thebreakpoints and other operating parameters are storedin a database correlating operating parameters withload conditions. Equations describing the relationshipbetween the parameters and the load conditions aredetermined by the programmed processor and additionaldata points determined therefrom to provide load-responsive control for liquid level setpoint. Aretrofitting apparatus is described for retrofittingthe inventive supervisory control apparatus ontoexisting liquid level controllers.
