SYSTEM FOR APPLYING LABELS TO PALLETS MOVABLE ALONG A CONVEYOR LINE

A sensor senses the presence of a pallet at alabel applying station on the conveyor line and a labelprinter/dispenser produces labels for applying to thepallet. A robot arm moves a label receiver/applier betweena first position, adjacent the label printer/dispenser forreceiving a label, a second position adjacent the labelapplying station for applying a label to the pallet, and athird position whereat a label reader, also mounted on therobot arm, reads the label. A processor controls the robotarm, the label reader and the label printer and dispenserand compares the text of the read label to determine if itis correct, and it also determines whether the label iscorrectly positioned.
