PROCESS FOR FLASH-SPINNING DRY POLYMERIC PLEXIFILAMENTARY FILM-FIBRIL STRANDS

An improved process for flash-spinningplexifilamentary film-fibril strands from fiber-formingpolyolefins is provided. A polyolefin is mixed to forma solution of 18 to 33 percent polyolefin by weight ofthe solution, 42 to 73 percent methylene chloride byweight of the solution and 9 to 25 percent carbondioxide by weight of the solution. The mixture is thenflash-spun into substantially dry plexifilamentarystrands.
