Method of Preventing Galloping of Multiconductor Transmission Lines

A top phase transmission line and bottom phasetransmission line are stretched between support steeltowers so that the bottom phase transmission line ispositioned below the top phase transmission line. Each ofthe transmission lines has at least two conductors, whichconductors are arranged to be substantially parallel andare separated by a substantially constant distance byinterconductor spacers. An intermediate phasetransmission line may be arranged between the top phasetransmission line and bottom phase transmission line aswell. Such transmission lines are multiconductortransmission lines. In these multiconductor transmissionlines, the conductor positioned at the left side in thetop phase transmission line and the conductor positionedat the right side in the intermediate phase transmissionline or bottom phase transmission line directly below itare connected by a first interphase spacer made of aninsulator. Further, the conductor positioned at the rightside in the top phase transmission line and the conductorpositioned at the left side in the intermediate phasetransmission line or bottom phase transmission linedirectly below it are connected by a second interphasespacer made of an insulator. By this, galloping in thetransmission lines can be suppressed.
