Tree-protective coating agent and tree protection method

A coating agent and a method for tree protection whereby the operation of tree protection becomes more easy to conduct than that of stem mudding, satisfactory effects can be achieved even without using any pesticide, and the generation of broken roots and the activation of grafted trees can be accelerated. The coating agent comprises an isothiocyanic ester or hinokitiol, a vinyl acetate resin, a water-base coating agent, a powdery metal, and a pH regulator. The protection method comprises the step of removing that part of a tree which is suffering from heart rot and the step of applying the coating agent to the affected part.
